Now and again we get asked to create a cake with a difference and I will use this page to showcase these cakes.
Early last year I had a consultation with the lovely Hazel & Paul who were having a November wedding. The colour scheme was to be a deep midnight blue & black, a very unusual combination indeed, and to make it even more interesting the wedding was to be themed around childrens authors/story books.
After some initial discussions it was decided the cake should be a 3 tier round cake iced in midnight blue with each tier depicting a specific author or story book with theses details to be portrayed in black, though we were given a little artisitic license when it came to adding a splash of colour were we felt it was needed.
The bottom tier was to be Alice in Wonderland, the middle tier to be peter rabbit and the top tier to be Peter Pan. On the top tier we also modelled a small book with the couples names, wedding date and a quote from Winnie The Pooh.
